Dhungala Baarka is a collaboration between song-women Nancy Bates and Allara Briggs Pattison, who met as band members for Uncle Archie Roach in 2016. 

 

Allara is a Yorta Yorta, musician and composer, living and working in Bendigo, Central Victoria. Nancy is a Barkindji musician, composer and teacher, writing music with women in prisons and in the mental health sector in South Australia.

 

Together they blend instrumentation and poetry to explore songlines belonging to the Yorta Yorta and Baaka rivers, known as the Murray Darling.
